It's interesting to see that BYU and Utah are right next to each other at #42 and #43 according to their Index Rankings... It still hurts knowing that we're 1-3, but I think this team is a lot better than their 1-3 record gives them credit for. Yes, we're 1 and 3. Yes, we could have won any number of those games with a few more made plays, but I feel like this can still be a very good season. With the remainder of the schedule, we'll be the favorite in 6 games. That gets us to 7 wins... Michigan State, even at home, looks beatable. I'm not saying we win that game, but I think we'll be very competitive. Boise will be really tough. They look pretty good this season, and playing on the smurf turf is tough for anyone. If we find a way to win one of those two, we're at 8 wins. 8-4 with a rookie coaching staff, new scheme, and the toughest schedule in school history is a pretty darn good result.

Could we fall on our face and lose a game or two against Miss St., Toledo, or Cincy? Of course, but we've beaten everyone we're supposed to beat, and we've been slightly more competitive than the line suggested we'd be in the games we've lost. I like our chances moving forward. This team is going to continue to get better, and I think we're going to be pleasantly surprised with the back two thirds of the season.
