I have been pretty critical of Kurtz this season.
I think my expectations were to high out of the gate since he didn't get to participate in fall camp due to a broken foot that he had screws inserted.
He can be soft at times.....and seemed to have bad drops in our first 2 games.
Having said that I think he has stepped up nicely the last 2 weeks and I imagine he will get stronger as the season goes on and he stays healthy.
Against UCLA he caught nearly every pass on our last drive--including a great grab over the top in the end zone. He also saved us from having an INT on a poorly thrown ball in the second half. He finished with 8 REC for 83 yards.
Against WVU I thought he was fantastic.
-The 2 point conversion was a great play by him and some think it should have been a catch (debatable)
-He had a great catch on what seemed to be a flag route that was thrown to far out of bounds.

-In the 4th Q he beat his man deep but a combination of the OL collapsing and Taysom having to throw it early prevented it from being completed.
-Also in the 4th Q---he was big on our last 2 drives. He had 3 great catches (2 of which were difficult catches) that put us in a good position to win the game.
I'm not pointing these things out to knock on Taysom by any means---just wanted to give the guy some props for starting to get better as he gets more time on his healed foot. He and the WR's have taken quite a bit of criticism this year (much of it justified) but I think he gets a bit of a pass for the first 2 games since he was literally just getting back from a broken foot. He finished with 6 REC for 78 yards.
I think he will be lighting it up by the end of the year if he stays healthy.
