There are reasons for not wanting to go to the MWC or AAC
But our "P5 status" is not one of them.
The Big 10 will give you P5 status as long as you are on their schedule and not a MAC school.
The Pac 12 doesn't care about those labels and they are the P5 conference that schedule us more than the other conferences combined.
And for the most part we built our "P5" reputation in the WAC/MWC not as an independent.

LMBSO - Fresno State considered a P5 for B10 scheduling.. not the entire MWC or Boise State, but FRESNO STATE....
