You make a really good point.
Since the wii was so successful, why did they change up the formula? Why didn't they double down on motion control and make incremental upgrades? I think it is because the motion control gimmick got old.

I have a Wii U and, as always, Nintendo's strength is their 1st party games line up. Their weakness is raw horsepower. I am cautiously optimistic about the Switch. The reception to its reveal seems to be mostly positive, but the devil will be in the details. How much will it cost? What will be the battery life? How will it's specs stack up against the PS4 and XBone? Will Nintendo finally get true 3rd party support, like they claim? Based on reception so far I think this system will do better than the Wii U (there's really no way it could do worse), but I doubt it will catch on like the wii did.
