They all had to sit and learn the system. Only then, could they be ready. This isn't a simple tiddly winks, snap together quick read offense. It requires the QB to KNOW a lot. Tom Brady is NOT a great athlete. He has a good arm, but not the best arm. Why then, is he considered the best player in the NFL? Because he knows the pro offense like no other. He's accurate. All the great BYU QB's of the past, had to sit, usually for 2 or 3 years, to learn LaVells offense, with Norm Chow as the offensive coordinator. Tanner has all the tools. But if he can learn the offense and learn how to read and attack a defense and where every player is, on both sides, he will be one of the very best QB's ever at BYU and will go on to play in the NFL.
