In reading the book, I realized that Steve has also overcome much to be
successful. I didn't find the book over the top in terms of pride or tooting his own horn. I believe there was a balance between working hard to achieve and being in the right place at the right time. President Monson's quote is very much applicable...'Obedience brings blessings...Obedience with exactness brings miracles.' But success is not defined by playing pro football. It could be a number of things that define a person. Serving a mission is an example. Doesn't define a young man but his choices and righteousness could enable him/her to achieve their unique success. Steve flat out found the formula to allow the Lord to bless him in a miraculous way. And to be frank, I have felt this same success in my life. It just doesn't include sports, MVP, or Super Bowl titles.
