Kalani is my guy. He was an interesting choice last night though
He is a soft spoken humble guy. The room was held by some loud prideful guys last night. The Irony of the situation is how many of those folks were "communicators of the year?"

Now my point is not that Kalani was overpowered and didn't hold his own but that people are pouring praise all over the guy for genius that doesn't define him. Do I think He is the greatest communicator in the world? no. Do I think he breaks down film better than other coaches? no. Is he a defensive rainman? No. The genius that is Kalani is that he is a genuine person who cares about his people. He is open and he is fun. The family atmosphere he is creating around BYU Football is awesome and welcoming. He is the type of guy who when you are his guy he will battle for you like you were family. By the way it doesn't take much to become one of his guys.

The forum last night was not really that great for capturing that. My guess is that if you were not impressed with the man before last night, nothing changed for you. It was fun to see the few moments when the teasing and banter started. It was finally time to see his nature but most the time it was vanilla.
