Some teachers are paid appropriately and some are not whether
that is overpaid or underpaid.
Also, all I have said that teachers don't work as many hours as many other professions out there. Teachers have more time off than any job that I know. They have so much time off many get a second job, which doesn't count as teacher work. That is a choice. And yes they may have to do some training over the summer or prep but no one is doing 8 hours a day every day over the summer.
Some teachers spend more time prepping than others and that is their choice as well. And as for my anecdotes. I am not making assumptions the teachers I know brag about their summers off and all the camping and trips that they get to enjoy. To them it is one long vacation. No other job can give you that.
So you can keep saying teachers work a lot of hours, but in reality they don't compared to many professions.
