As I wrote that stuff I sound like I'm bagging on the faculty and students that made this, because some pretty much all of my points are critical towards it, relative to its purpose.
That's not my point, I think they did an awesome job of designing this, and I think if they keep thinking along these lines, there can be some great stuff to be made. I LOVE that they are thinking and gearing this stuff toward law enforcement, and they did an outstanding job in the product and development. MAJOR PROPS to the students and faculty on that design team!
I honestly would have thought along those exact same lines just a few short years ago when I was a BYU student. Some time in several areas of LE has changed my perspective and understanding of tactics and is why I make the points I do regarding that shield, but I wish to take nothing away from those guys. It is AWESOME that they made that, and there are certainly applications for it!!
