You've apparently had bad experiences, but your own experience with anything doesn't constitute the whole truth of it. I personally couldn't imagine any of the doctors I know showing up late for appointments with their own patients. For me to even get into med school I had to be really punctual for everything. If your doctors are showing up late to things that's really their own fault, not the fault of "being a doctor." As for doctors being condescending, that's kind of how medicine has been for a few decades but these days med schools strongly select for having a decent personality so I imagine that will be changing. As for drugs, who do you think discovered much of that stuff? "Drug companies" are made of scientists and doctors.

All I'm saying is, if I seem defensive, you have to understand that no one appreciates being told they're a terrible person for doing what they do. I love healthcare because I want to contribute something to people's well being and I love the science of how people work, how things go wrong and what can be done to fix that, but apparently I'm just an egomaniac who wants to put other people down.
