I am sure others have posted regarding the open house for the Marriott Center Annex but I haven't seen any. Here are my
Observations as I spoke with coaches, players, administrators, and trainers.

First of all the facility is absolutely 1st class inside and outside. Interactive screens are great to watch timelines.

The Annex is open 24 hours for all players to work on their game - this is huge! No longer do players have to find a place to practice (Smith Fieldhouse, Richards, Church, etc.). They can come and go as they wish playing on a floor that is a replica of the Marriott Center. No longer will our teams have interruptions with scheduling the Marriott Center and student/athlete classes. There were times the team couldn't practice together because of the slots available in the Marriott Center and class schedules didn't match.

The only common areas for the men's and women's team is the training room, weight room, and obviously the court. They have separate player lounges, team film rooms, conference rooms, coaches areas, etc. But with two half courts and full-court that shouldn't be an issue. There are twelve-baskets to spread the shooting out (especially free-throws).

The trainers use the Cryotherapy spa – this spa reaches temps between -266 degrees F to -320 degrees F. Players can stay in the spa for a maximum of three minutes. Here’s a link about the spa and it’s healing properties – I love the quote; “The body may also experience an immune system ‘restart,’ helping patients’ bodies to forget about previous pain.” No kidding Sherlock, my body would forget everything in those temps!!!!!!!!! Including body functions.

LJ Rose was helping Yoeli Childs with his rehab while we were there – senior leadership and friendship.

Elijah Bryant stated he is still only 80% with his knee. He can’t jump (explode) like he is use too, which impacts his shot and overall game.

The women’s team will be adding 6’7” Hansom and I believe a 6’4” or 6’3” player for next year. I didn’t catch the 2nd players name.

If you haven’t seen the facility yet, you should stop by. They have an area that is glassed in (baby room) for the media. They can observe practice from there without interfering with practice. Fans depending on the practice day can observe some practices from this platform.

Better run.

Go Cougars!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
