The alternator is charging at what it should be. 14 volts or whatever he said it was....the battery is shot. Surprised it was starting at all with a bad battery although it has seemed to take a bit longer to crank than normal too and there's been a time or two it almost didn't start.
Makes sense though since it was running completely fine other than the stuff the battery uses going out. Just glad it's a cheaper fix just being the battery rather than both.
