Her sister and sister's boyfriend lived in San Francisco. He saved up a bunch of money to buy used cars to start a car lot. For some reason, he wanted to go to Texas to buy the cars, so they took off with a briefcase with $100,000 in cash to buy cars. Before buying the cars, he decided they should go on vacation to Cancun. When they got there, he put his briefcase full of cash in the hotel safe. At the end of the vacation, he called the front desk and told them he was going to need his briefcase. Not long after, the federales showed up at his room and arrested them both for trying to defraud the Mexican government with counterfeit bills. Short story - they ended up in jail for several years.
