BYU actually slowing down tempo down the stretch, literally holding the ball near mid-court until > 10 seconds on the shot-clock.
I've been somewhat critical of Rose's clock management for much of his career, but I think this strategy is why we won the game. And I can't recall Rose EVER doing this before. Kudos to him. No doubt Gonzaga has a much deeper bench than BYU...had we kept running and gunning with them, I don't think we could have kept up. I think taking the air out of the ball gave our starting 5 enough energy to make critical plays and win the game.
