I have some Bose headphones that have much better sound, and I use the Bose when I need to block out other sound.

What I like about the Airpods:

1. No wires - including no wires between each earpiece
2. Battery life is 5 hours and they recharge in the case for up to 24 hours. The storage/recharging case is a big deal because the Airpods are always charged and ready to go without hassling to recharge them or worry about the battery level.
3. They are comfortable in my ears. I usually forget that I have them on. They have never fallen out of my ears.
4. Voice quality and Siri activation is excellent do to the design of the microphones, even in noisy environments.
5. The sound is decent - acceptable. It's slightly better than my wired EarPods.
6. W1 chip makes it easy to use with my iPhone and iPad
7. And again: no wires at all - it's a great experience you can't fully understand until you try them.
