Could that be a result of not playing together long enough?
They don't know where the other guy is going to be. When someone drives, the other guys don't know his tendencies and where he will be and, therefore don't move to the right spots.

Time playing together is so important in establishing trust and intuition to know what the other guy is doing and that he will be where he is supposed to be.
