Nor has the Lord ever taught that his followers should support people to continue to violate the law of the land and to knowingly deceive to get gain. There are two sides to the argument that you make, and if you ignore the other side ie that the Lord NEVER aided someone to continue in dishonesty and to continue violating the law, then you loose credibility. If you can find one passage in all of the Scriptures where the Lord said, hey just go ahead and continue living a lie, continue deceiving for gain and no worries just continue violating the law then I will gladly erase my post.
When it comes down to it, helping someone in the situation described above is not as simple as it seems. No where in all of the accepted LDS standard works or in the teachings of the living prophets has there been any admonition or call to support someone in violating the law and to support someone who knowingly deceives anyone or any entity to get gain.
Many of us served in foreign nations, and as Ambassadors of Christ, we were always taught to uphold and honor the law of the land we were in and to be gracious and polite guests.
I get the spirit of what you are saying but your argument is not complete and sound unless you look at the full context of the Lords actions and teachings pertaining to those who knowingly break the law and those who purposely deceive to get gain.
