If I know how much everyone is getting paid, and I am confident in my abilities to eventually move up, (or I am desperate enough), I may go to your work and say, I will do his/her job for less than you are currently paying him/her. Then some entry level jobs may create bidding wars, but in the opposite direction from what we are used to.
