Just about every bit of power is held by companies rather than employees
Employees are expected to give 2 weeks, companies just fire right away.
Companies can change workers schedules at any point, making workers figure out child care and other commitments.
Companies benefit from NDAs about salaries.
Companies aren't (with some exceptions) required to give sick days, time off, paternity leave.
The list goes on and on.

Power is definitely with companies in today's economy.
