Willie can't shoot to save his life, has very few post moves that work and looks lost out there much of the time. I didn't watch him much in college, so can't compare.
Regarding Skal, I had no idea the guy is 6'11". He plays small on the court. I guess the optimistic hope is that he can become a KD or Giannis kind of player? But he doesn't seem to have anywhere near the ball handling, shooting, or court vision skills that those guys had early in their careers. I mean the guy scored 6 pts with 3 reb at Kentucky.
So I get it, it's all about youth and upside in the NBA. That's what makes the NBA draft such a crapshoot. It's a huge guessing game, because you can have 20/10 guys like Mika with some actual skills who get passed up because their athleticism is perceived to not be good enough. And of course true low post bigs in the NBA are becoming scarce, which doesn't bode well for Eric. He's got good touch on his jump shot, but to really have a chance he'll need to extend his range. He'll likely need to change his shooting form from deep, like Kawhi did with SA last year.
And yes, wouldn't wish him the kiss of death that is playing in the Kings organization.
