You don't call UC San Diego Cal? Or UTEP Texas? Or Fresno State Cal State?
Ute logic: They're all the same university system, why would Cal be considered Cal when others in the UC system aren't? UT Austin is part of the same university system as UT El Paso so why refer to it simply as Texas when some might think you mean UT San Antonio? It's pretty arrogant of UT Austin to call themselves Texas without considering the other seven universities in the University of Texas system.

We should be flattered that there is so much demand for a BYU education that the church had to open up two other universities. There's so much demand for BYU experience that the junior college next door of people who didn't quality but wanted to transfer became a full university and has the largest enrollment in the state. Meanwhile U of Utah and USU have so little demand that they accept anyone who finished high school. Remind people of that when they say BYU-P.
