Part One: Trib writer wrote an article about a CB poster who had a message about how BYU handled Title IX investigations deleted. CB poster was banned for that post. Trib writer made sure to mention Trib's Pulitzer Prize a handful of times in the article.
Part Two: Article is linked on CB. CB mods quickly learn what message it was and who sent it. The message was moved, not deleted. The CB member had been automatically suspended one day as is standard on CB for miscategorized messages, not banned from posting as the CB poster had stated. CB learns that the Trib author never talked to anybody on CB before writing the article about CB. El Jefe emails Trib writer with a timeline of the moved message as well as background on the poster and the CB rules which led to his message being moved and him being suspended.
Part Three: Trib author goes back and changes some of the article to reflect what actually happened. Author does not include a disclaimer on the updated article or a list of changes he made. Trib ignores the severed breach of basic journalism standards, instead says "meh" and lets the article stand.
