...when I saw him stop playing selfishly and start looking at what the team needed and what he could do to fill that need he started winning me over. I thought his defense on Jared Brownridge in the first Santa Clara game was maybe the best individual defensive performance by a BYU player since his brother Jackson was on the team. He gave max effort at not only contesting every shot but as much as possible he played denial defense and kept Jared from even touching the ball despite the numerous picks that he was run through.
If Haws and Bryant approached their D with that same intensity we'd have won 30 games and been in the NCAA tourney.
