Can you name a time in Roy Williams career that he hasn't had as deep a bench as anyone in the country? I think he's a
fantastic coach which is why he's had so much success for so long. He went from assistant at UNC to Kansas following Larry Brown. He went back to UNC. He's never in his career had a Beo on his bench. Ever.

I admire him tremendously. Excellent coach. Great disciplinarian but he has always been able to afford to be. His backups have always been skilled players. If Rose still had Bartley, Neilson, and even Chatman, I would be expect Rose to be more willing to bench his starters as a lesson and even those guys are not in the same world as the backups Roy Williams has had in his career.

It's a different reality for Dave Rose. Not so easy to just bench guys to make a point.
