Why doesn't anyone mention the other side of things,
which is that players who perform well get tons of praise and positive attention? The people critical of the people critical of players--meta-critics?--sometimes act as if signing up to play for BYU is signing up for constant criticism no matter what. It's not true.

Participating in any public activity entertainment/sports/politics is opening yourself up to criticism or praise or, typically, some of both. There's nothing wrong with that, people. It's life, and there's no changing it.

That said, I do agree with CB' s policy of no personal attacks. Some on this board, however, conflate criticisms of performance with personal attacks. They're not the same thing. Saying a player is a terrible person is over the line. Saying he's a terrible shooter is completely appropriate and acceptable in the context of a fan message board.

And honestly CB is very very very tame as far as internet message boards go. I am shocked anyone has a problem with the level of negativity here.
