"There are arenas for everything in this world."
When discussions like this one come up, there's always a contingent that says, "If you wouldn't say it to coach/player/AD's face, then you shouldn't post it." I would agree with this on a theoretical level, but not really on a practical level. Here's why:
I'd never criticize players or coaches to their faces because I'd never be in a situation where that criticism would be contextually appropriate. If I ran into Rose at a restaurant or even a FanFest, I'd probably say, "Great to meet you. Good luck on the upcoming season," and leave it at that. Not because I don't believe what I post here or because I'm a chicken or whatever. It's because there isn't an in-person venue I know of that's explicitly created for fans, not sponsored by the school (this one's important), and dedicated to in-depth discussion of the sports programs. If such an in-person venue existed and Rose or players or anyone else happened to show up at it, then I'd absolutely say what I post on here.
And what OC Coug says above is absolutely correct. CB is a huge benefit to BYU athletics. Fan enthusiasm is the lifeblood of any sports team or program, and open discussion venues that give all of us (even those who don't really know what we're talking about [which admittedly is probably most of us]) an equal platform to share, discuss, and criticize are vital to building and maintaining that enthusiasm.
