I went to Macey's to grab some groceries for my wife. I usually go there because the owners are big BYU fans and I think it's cool to support local people like that. Anyway, I needed something on the very top shelf, but it was just out of reach. I was kind of bummed because it looked like an awesome flavor of Western Family dressing.
I looked around for a minute for a ladder or something to stand on, but couldn't find anything. Suddenly, like an answer to my prayer, Braiden Shaw came around the corner and started walking down my aisle. It was pretty cool to see a BYU basketball player in an everyday setting like that. I thought about asking him for help, but chickened out. I figured he gets asked that enough. So I just said, "good luck this year" as he walked by. He said thanks and that he really appreciated that. Pretty neat to see a guy who has started for the basketball team be so humble and grateful.
I didn't end up getting dressing I wanted, but found a similar awesome flavor of Great Value dressing later that day.
I'm hopeful Shaw has a great off-season of work outs and really plays solid minutes next season. I could tell he has the fire to make it happen.
