This is what my wife did. Her tooth had a hairline fracture. Tooth was pulled.
She went as saw a maxillofacial guy for an implant and he said that if she were his daughter he would recommend they just monitor it to see if it needs an implant. If the rest of the teeth start moving then they would need to put one in. It has been about three years now.

Maybe it's #14...either way, there is a tooth behind it, which is why the dentist mentioned the bridge as an alternative
