Our first house had a 2 car and a 1 car garage. The 2 car could barely fit 2
cars in it and nothing else. The 1 car could fit a compact car with very little room for storage. Drove me nuts.

More hardwood, less carpet. Go with zoned HVAC system.

Our biggest regret was not adding an additional 1.5 bathrooms.

Make sure your garage is as big as possible.

Agreed. It is not possible to build a garage that is too big.

Our house has a decent sized garage, but there's a pole in the way that makes it hard to park both cars.

Better to have the pole inside the house for climate control while dancing.

Can't you just park it in the driveway?

Make a tall closet for your Christmas tree, so you can just store it fully decorated.
El Jefe

and make the door that stores said tree a bookcase

Several things: First, pour as much concrete as you will need as part of the building process.

If you have a large house/family, double water heater is really nice. We run multiple or consecutive showers or laundry

All this, but I'd upgrade to Cat6 over Cat5.
El Jefe
4/25/17 10:42am
CAT6A. CAT6 can only run 10G for 55M. 6A can do the full 100M
