Mizzou-Blue 3rd String
Meh, plenty of stars ring chase, LBJ and Shaq were in prime and many others
later in their careers. I don't think Malone, Barkley, Gary Payton or Clyde Drexler hold any moral superiority over them for doing it late in their careers. No big deal to me. People will crush them for not winning a ring and crush them for chasing a ring. People also crush stars for money chasing instead of wanting to win and signing a smaller contract to allow more cap space.

That's why to me, when people say KD took the easy way out, I think they're way off. The easiest thing he could have done was resign a max deal with OKC. No one criticizes the dude for doing that. He doesn’t have to learn to play with a whole new team. The hard thing was leaving the only team he's known, and opening himself up to people like you criticizing him for "ring chasing," alienating a loyal fan base, becoming the league "villain" by many fans and media.

The only thing that matters to them is being on top. In the long run, LBJ's legacy isn't tarnished by ring chasing in Miami. Yeah sure people crushed him a few years ago, but now all's forgotten and some think he's better than Jordan.

If Durant wins a couple with GS in a few years only a handful of fans outside of OKC will care.
