Pre-qualified? Or pre-approved? The former is only good for giving you a ball
park of what you can afford and what your rate could possibly be. The latter can be used in conjunction with an offer on a house to boost the strength of your offer. The former takes about 5 minutes. The latter takes some paperwork and additional stuff.
