They aren't the same, but they're pretty close

In both situations they put themselves in the best possible place to win a championship while essentially eliminating their biggest competition. Durant joined a team that was better than the team lebron joined but that wasn't an option for lebron. There was no 70 win team with cap space sitting around in 2010.
