$300 for a phone call? Really? (Health care costs rant)
My son has to get some dental work done but the dentist is going to do it at the hospital for anesthesia purposes. On our bill is $300 for a "hospital phone call" that is not covered by insurance (I wonder why...because its just a freakin' phone call!). So that means we have to pay the dentist $300 for having his administrative assistant make a phone call.

I've seen the other complaints on the board and health professionals defending the work of the care providers, but this one seems pretty indefensible. How about you just let me make the call and be the middle man if I have to. I don't want to pay $300 for that. Even if it was covered by insurance, it seems like a ridiculous charge.
