Was at the Staples Center last night, a few (amateur) observations.
I don't know how the viewing experience was on TV, but that was an UGLY game. Multiple stretches where both teams just couldn't score, played sloppy basketball, and just looked somewhat out of rhythm all game long.

That being said, the game was played at Utah's pace. It is pretty incredible when you think about it, that with a pretty young team we can go into an opposing team's arena and force them to play our style of basketball, and do it for multiple games. Bravo Quinn and team.

It is ABSOLUTELY amazing to me that DeAndre Jordan was never posted up in that game. He has at least 30-40lbs on Gobert and they didn't go to him on the block or in a post up one single time. Jordan has been in the league for 9 years now, and still hasn't developed a low post game? This is an absolute indictment of Jordan and more so for Coach Rivers and the culture of that team. I couldn't stop thinking about that. You lose a game by 4 points, and not once tried to post up Jordan. Even when he was miss matched, there was never an attempt. A could of time Joe Johnson was guarding Jordan...that is embarrassing. I know he traditionally hasn't been that kind of player, but you've got to develop some kind of low post game...

I lost some respect for Chris Paul (not that I've been a huge fan). At every TO, he was chirping with the refs, complaining about this or that. Ingles was frustrating him and I think that is part of the reason coach Snyder plays Ingles on Paul. He gets under his skin. Also, the double technical was a completely bogus call. Not sure what the announcers were saying, but Hayward did nothing wrong (unless he shot out with some vulgarity).

Anyway, huge win for the Jazz. Joe Johnson was clutch again as was Rodney Hood. Hood was playing at less than 100% all game. In the first quarter, in his first trip down the court he stepped funny on his ankle and it looked like he was favoring it all game. Then in the 3rd QTR on a screen Ingles kneed him right in the thigh which didn't look like it felt very good. But those guys stepped up and ultimately helped the Jazz take that meaningful Game 5.

I apologize if my thoughts are random, but don't have time to make this into a more logical post.
