We are considering the purchase of a home that is remarkable in every way, location, size, layout, and is unlike anything else in the area in our price range. The discount comes because the floor slopes. In some spots it's pretty significant. We spoke with a geologist and a contractor, both agreed that the house is safe and that the settling is done, but because of the house shape and size, there really isn't much you can do to fix it entirely. Spot fixes can be done in a couple of rooms, but there will always be a slope in most places throughout the home. We plan on living there for 20+ years, and as I mentioned, it is already marked way down considering what the neighbors paid for theirs.
Could you live in a sloped home if everything else was perfect?
