I am not a fan in any way to the New England Patriots. I don't like cheating in any form. However, I was cheering for the patriots in the Superbowl, because I wanted KVN to get a ring. I loved him at BYU, so unless he starts acting like a total jerk, I will fully support his team's success, whatever that team may be.
I became a big 49ers fan when I was young very much because of Steve Young - I watched many 49ers games growing up because of him. Once he retired, my interest and fanhood waned. If I had to pick a team still, it would be the 9ers, but very minimally.
I just became a Packers fan today because J-Swag Daddy got drafted by them. I believe I am quite opposite of you.
I like to see individuals that I like or whose game I admire, succeed. On the other hand I am die hard BYU fan. In the pro's it is just a different feel to me. People will typically sign with whoever gives them the most money. Players come and go, with the game becoming mostly a job to the majority of them.
The desire to follow a pro team just isn't there for me.
