2011 is an outlier because the schedule had to be quickly cobbled together.
2013 is, by far, the toughest schedule in the past decade.
We'll see how future schedules play out. Once the schedule is set, BYU doesn't have any control on how the opponents will fare.
Last year is a good example. On paper, it looked like the toughest schedule in a long while. In the end, it turned out to be the fourth weakest schedule in 10 years.
The home schedule will improve in the near future but the back half of the schedule will always have an imbalance towards "weaker" schools. It's just the vagaries of independence.
I don't have any problems with the home schedules because I understand that TH doesn't have many options.
