So what do we think the thought process is for TH & KS in scheduling this game?
Before the Liberty game was scheduled/informally announced, BYU already had 11 games on the schedule. 5 home and 6 away.

The 2019 schedule is pretty difficult, so scheduling another easy game seems fair. However, since the season winds down with a number of easy games, with this last-to-schedule game BYU could probably have fit in another challenging opponent without overwhelming themselves.

BYU needed a 6th home game. Their three open dates are Oct. 5, Oct. 26th, and Nov. 9th. Needing a home game limits their scheduling opportunities. Have to find a team willing to come to Provo.

They are also 2 years out from the 2019 season. So if BYU wanted to wait longer to see if an opening would come around for a good team, BYU still had a year to wait and see.

So did BYU finally just agree to this game out of desperation? (too close to 2019 and likelihood noone better would come) Or was BYU happy to schedule another gimme?

I'm also curious if the game goes into Nov. 9th or Oct. 26th or Oct. 5th. I guess its Oct. 26th
