My "Better late than never" report from Fan Fest #Farmington #Utah
First of all, big ups to the AD for choosing Farmington. I've been saying this for a while now, but Farmington is like the Provo of northern Davis county. I knew that when they announced it that they knew that the fans knew where it'd be. Obviously I'd love to see a #Byu fan fest out my way in Magna or WV, but 1) it's kind of Ute land and 2) Gangs.
So I got there and I decided to take my buddy. He's not a BYU fan but he respects the program. He said he thinks Kalani is going to make BYU good, and he's rooting for us to get into the Big 12. He's going through a nasty divorce so I thought #fan fest would take his mind off of what his "wife" did.
So we get there and he's like "dang this is a lot of people." Honestly, I was sort of peeved. Traffic was bad and I thought there would be more people. I mean, it looked like there were a lot but whenever I see a crowd of BYU fans I always think "how would this be perceived on the national ESPN stage?" "What would the Utes fan fest look like? Is ours better?" But to my friends credit, the crowd was good sized. I immediately saw the tent with the players and stuff. I didn't want to go straight there so we took in some of the activities. We tried the "throw the football in the hole" game. I went 1/3 and my friend went 1/3. We asked if we could play catch with on of the balls but the girl said no. Then we went to the BYU creamery set up. It was money! My friend liked it and said it's cool BYU makes their own ice cream. When we met some of the players we mostly just wanted them to know we appreciate them coming out and being cool. Head coach Kalani Sitake shook our hands. It was my buddy's first time meeting Coach. It was my 7th, if you count when he was a player. I said "Hey Coach, are you guys going to beat the Utes this year?" And then he said "We better!" it was pretty funny. Overall the event was first class all the way. Major ups to Tom Holmoe for putting this together. I know we got things heading in the right direction this fall.

#Go Cougs!
