I have a good friend who has been trying to either adopt or become foster parents for some time now. Well they got a call last Tuesday about a 7 year old girl who needed a home ASAP. She was coming from an abusive home, but my friend didn't know how bad the situation was. The girl is an adorable little girl... apparently she had burn marks on her, which they assumed were from cigarette burns, and there were bruises on her as well.

The girl has never had a bed in her life apparently, she always slept on the floor with blankets. At my friends house they have a bed for her, and yet they have to remind her to sleep in the bed because naturally she just takes a blanket and sleeps on the floor. It's so freaking heart breaking but I'm so proud of my friend for doing this... they are big time hero's in my eyes. They've had the girl since Wednesday and the girl is adjusting really well already, they say that she has shown to have really good manners and is just a sweet little girl. My friends are nervous about this cause they don't know yet what is going to happen to her. They don't know if they'll have her for a week, a month, a year, or forever. So their emotions are kind of all over the place right now.

I know there are a few cougarboards here that have adopted or are foster parents, after kind of seeing what is going on with my friend... seriously hats off to you, I've got some mad respect for you!
