I figured football is football, and maybe the added feature of women tackling each other actually might increase intrigue. This is apparently the championship of a pro women's league. I realize they don't get paid anything, and that the infrastructure of having it sanctioned by the NCAA would help improve the quality of the product, but wow. This looks like Jr. High football. The fact that they are all geared up in pads makes it painfully obvious, because you can't tell they are women. And if you just assume they are a non-woman team, I'd presume this is a 9th-10th grade matchup.
I would get into watching BYU women's football the same way I do most other non-revenue sports (can't get into women's basketball), but I don't think I could ever be a casual watcher of women's football when BYU wouldn't be involved.
Also, this isn't a comment on whether Sam Gordon is awesome or not. She's really awesome. I fully expect to see her playing rugby for BYU someday. I'm just speaking as one person whether I think I'd be interested watching women play football.
