and also obviously has a difficult time with creative thinking, thus the job that requires no thinking for himself at all, just counting.
Maybe some helpful advice next time instead. Something like "share a few stories about the boy and fun memories from his scouting experience. Or, share some info on Eagle Scouts to make him feel special for accomplishing something that 95% of scouts never accomplish." Whether you like scouting or not, it's still a big deal for a teenager to start and finish something, especially something that requires years of work.
