There's probably no one else, at least no one who would ever be on BYU's radar as a position coach, that I'd rather have mentoring our QB's on how to succeed here.

Deter says all the right stuff and has the knowledge to help transform BYU back into QBU. Now, it's just gotta work. He has a big time guy with a big time arm as his starter. The team has had a year to make the transition into the system Ty wants--it's time to make it happen.

Can Detmer, Mangum et al accomplish this and lure the next major LDS quarterback talent to Provo, we'll be back in business in a big way. There is also talent in the pipeline between these two that BYU could potentially go on another nice run of elite QB play.
