different from most of my fellow cougarboarders, I bet most would think Steve Young, Ty Detmer, Jim McMahon or the other long string of great or even Steve Sarkisian or Gifford Nielson or accomplishments. I actually might look at success a little bit differently, I think success is to keep going despite obstacles and not actually the award, but the persistence, drive, and attitude.
In my opinion, the most successful Ex Quarterback of all time is Jake Heaps. The dude doesn't give up, he just keeps going and going and maintaining a great attitude along the way. He just resigned with the Seahawks and although he might get cut again, he has kept going. To tell you the truth if I were him I would have given up a long time ago, but he hasn't. He learned a lot from his earlier mistakes and has used them as mentors to help him with his future. He has received so much criticism and could have blamed others for his failures, but he chose to keep going and keep learning and has made it further than 99% of college quarterbacks out there.
I think you have to look at where Jake Heaps is now and just admire his persistence and drive. I would love to see him stick with the Seahawks for a season just so he can get that experience. Obviously we would have liked for him to bring us multiple championships and worked out for him, but what a success he is now.
Go cougs!
