USC, Notre Dame, Stanford, and Georgia Tech were not common OOC lineups.

Here were BYU's OOC lineups from 2005 to 2008:

- Boston College, Eastern Illinois, at Notre Dame
- at Arizona, Tulsa, at Boston College, Utah St.
- Arizona, at UCLA, Tulsa, E. Washington
- Northern Iowa, at Washington, UCLA, at Utah St.

The other thing is that the MWC schedule ALWAYS ended with the BYU-Utah game over Thanksgiving weekend. That just isn't possible anymore - and definitely not possible as a member of the MWC.

And, TCU was on the MWC schedule, and they were often ranked.

So, even if you work the Utah game in the OOC rotation in place of the FCS opponent or Tulsa, BYU's independent schedules are generally better than what the MWC could offer now.
