Most of the time I just ignore it, I've found that confuses them and makes them madder most of the time.

Of course I have been taken by surprise before and have blurted out the following (not saying any these are any good):
"what is that, a double loser sign? thanks for letting me know your place in life"
"good luck with that little brother"
"better dead than red"
