With depression and what he is doing to talk about it and give back to help others only makes me want him to have tons of success. He is a good dude and I hope he tears it up this season.

Funny story- this past general conference weekend (April) I was in Vegas with my wife. On Saturday we hit up the Shake Shack because well, it's the freaking Shake Shack! Anyway, I'm sitting at our table enjoying the best burger ever along with a particular beverage of choice when two tables away from me sits down Tanner and his cute wife (she was sporting some BYU gear). I told my wife Tanner "Hail Mary" Mangum just sat down two tables over and I wanted to get a pic. After finishing up eating we had to walk past Tanner to dispose of our garbage and also to exit. I almost didn't go back to him where he was still eating and I didn't want to bug him but I decided that I was just gonna go for it. I walked back towards Tanner (his wife was facing me but Tanner's back was to me) and in a gruff voice asked, "Why aren't you watching conference?" This of course caught Tanner completely off guard wondering who is asking him this right now. He turned around and I let him know I was totally kidding and really didn't care if he was watching conference (not LDS myself) but hoped I could get a quick pic. He was so cool about it and he stood up and threw his arm around me while my wife took the pic. I wished him good luck in the upcoming season and we were on our way. The way he acted even when I was messing with him a bit shows the kind of character he has. I hope he sets all kinds of throwing records this upcoming season and in his career. Go Cougs!
