hard to imagine everyone having self-driving cars by 2025. But, if you think about all the reasons you have a car and why that may not be necessary in the near future, the concept seems a lot more possible.
Think about all the things you do in your car: take kids to school, go get groceries, drive to work, drive to church, drive to soccer practice, etc. All these things could be done with drone-type cars not individually owned. If your kid needs to go to school, you call a driverless Uber. If you need groceries, a drone could deliver them within minutes. The need for your own vehicle will decrease as technology increases. We are already seeing elements of this in large cities. Cars will not be the same in the future because we won't need them like we do now.
