you underestimate how terrible humans are at driving
30,000+ Americans die every year from car accidents

What would you say if I could give you a software that would result in a maximum of 15,000 auto-accident related deaths per year?

What if I told you that would save 15,000 people from dying per year.

Even if we assume self driving cars make that many mistakes (which would be likely worst-case-scenario), NOT adopting that is manslaughter IMO.
