Making the robots the personable comic relief was bucking-trend ingenious too.

My only problem w Lucas is he couldn't reproduce the dramatic novelty of the 1st movie. If he coulda fully collaborated w a quality writer in that 1st movie it coulda been something really, really special. Its dialogue lapses are the only glaring lack in it (per me, anyways).
